A Cadillac with a great history!
In the 1960s, a dynamic entrepreneur enthusiastically visited the Auto-Becker showroom in Düsseldorf, Germany's largest new and used car dealer at the time.
She was looking for a dream car and a representative vehicle for her company. In her mind, this Eldorado was the closest thing to an Eldorado, so she bought it.
An unusual decision in the mid-1960s, and one that was due to the company's show business activities. She hosted the "Ball of Lonely Hearts" for the many war widows seeking entertainment and joy.
The Cadillac was effectively decorated to advertise in front of the rented town hall or community center.
The Eldorado was the top model in the series and not every Cadillac is an Eldorado!
Only 2,215 units of this version were built. The price for the additional equipment and visual upgrade was significantly higher than for the base De Ville Convertible.
The car was assembled as a European version for Germany in Antwerp, Belgium.
This gives it a odometer, headlight flasher, and other details. It's one of three 1965 Auto-Becker Cadillacs that have been with me. So, a successful year and a rare survivor.
I found the car in 2000 and bought it directly from a family member. There were many wonderful stories about the car and its original owner, but those are beyond the scope of this article. I'd be happy to talk more about that over the phone.
After many years with a Cadillac enthusiast, it is now back for sale with me!
It is in excellent condition and free of defects.
A joy to look at and enjoy the Cadillac!
The car is registered with an H license plate and is immediately ready for a great season.
