I first became aware of this 65 30 years ago.
A first German delivery from Auto Becker in Düsseldorf. One of the largest and best known luxury car dealers in the country at the time.
The story so far is as follows: The car was delivered to an embassy in Bonn, the federal capital at the time. A car phone was installed for this! The cost of this alone: a Mercedes 300 SEL! Who had a car phone in 1965? The car was then driven and looked after by a chauffeur for special occasions for a few years until it was sold to an enthusiast.
Around 25 years ago, the paintwork was professionally renewed to a high standard. To this day, it looks as good as new and flawless. The car is in excellent original condition.
No signs of wear.
After a few years of downtime, the car is running safely and reliably again. We made the necessary investments without considering the cost.
Now drives like a young used car. Original mileage only 140,000 kilometers.
European versions have a kilometer speedometer.
The beautiful interior with Japanese precious wood paneling and silky fabrics with embroidery look very classy and elegant. The Sixty Special was the top model among the 4-door sedans.
